No run or anything this morning. No time. I feel like crap, with a sore hip and cramps.

Food:
eggs w/ avocado & tomato on Sandwich Thin [1 pt]
coleslaw [2 pts] & red pepper slices
beef & vegetable soup
pumpkin oatmeal cookie [1 pt]
apple & cottage cheese

No water today. Some tea and a coffee. 30 weekly points remaining. I'm missing my oil servings and a partial dairy.

Are your hips still sore? From running? Where are the cramps at?

Do you have good running shoes? (I know I'm bombarding you with lots of questions.... hoping to be able to help based off of some of the answers you give. Pain from exercise is no fun!)

Yes, my right hip. It has to be from running because that's what I did the day it started to hurt. I'm taking ibuprofen now. I probably won't run any more this week. I have some NB 760s but I probably need new ones - these are almost a year old. I don't run in them often but I do wear them for work. I have new shoes high on my priority list when I get my first real paycheck.

I had bad menstrual cramps, which I rarely get. They have eased so all that's bothering me now is the hip. Which I probably aggravated further by racing the kids in our running club at the elementary school.

Menstrual cramps are the worst! Glad you are feeling a bit better!

As for the shoes. The rule of thumb I've always heard is that you should replace your running shoes every 6 months because of the soles breaking down. They can even degrade just sitting under the bed. I can really tell the difference in how I feel once I get a new pair and have run in them.

Do you have a running store where you live? I found that a good fit is really important too. I was wearing Asics, and ended up hurting my foot b/c the toe box was too narrow. I now am wearing Brooks Glycerin. A bit more then I wanted to spend, but not being hurt was worth it.

Hope you are feeling better!

Yeah, I know the rules but I don't work during the summer so shoes were not high on the list. The closest running store is about 90 minutes away - that's where I went to get these last year. There is a shoe outlet locally that carries these though, so I can buy new ones as soon as I get paid. Running is not a priority for me - I much prefer weight lifting, and I don't even wear shoes for that - so I'm not going to spend mega bucks. $100 is my limit for running shoes. I remember when I first bought these - I think I even commented that it was like running on clouds. I'm hoping to hit a BOGO sale so I can get one pair for running and one pair for work.
