Food & workouts look great as always! Grilled cheese sounds good...yumm...what kind of cheese do you use? Last week I made one with 2% Cracker Barrel cheese and it was bland. :(

Cheese is one of the foods I refuse to compromise on. I use full fat cheeses, usually mozzarella and/or regular sliced American cheese. Processed ick, I know, but it's convenient. Grilled cheese on my menu screams, "I didn't feel like cooking but had to eat something!"

I think that's not a bad way to go on the cheese thing - it's always been one of my "scary" foods...I have the whole diet mentality of, "Don't eat that - it's not the good fat it's saturated!" but honestly low fat or fat free cheese just isn't the same. Except in feta - for some reason I don't mind the taste of that. I think for grilled cheese you have to go all the way though - it's probably much more satisfying, too!

I've come to realize that having something like the occasional grilled cheese WITH full fat cheese isn't going to make any of us fat. Now eating 4 of them at a time maybe...but not one!! :)

Exactly. I can stop at one sandwich, too, so I put it in the "safer" category. Mainly, I like them because they warm my belly and I just can't eat oatmeal yet. I try, I really do, but the texture bothers me a lot.

Not eating oatmeal isn't that big of a deal - I tend to eat a lot of it because I like it so much. Have you tried Cream of Wheat? Or steel cut oats? Again though..no biggie if you don't like it. I guess it's one of those comfort foods for me that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :) It tastes great with a spoonful of PB in it. There's something about mixing cottage cheese, oatmeal and Splenda together...it sounds gross, but it's REALLY good!

I just feel like I should be eating oatmeal, since it's so good for you, you know? Maybe adding something too it will help. My goal for today is to eat a bowl of oatmeal.

Well don't feel like your should be or have to eat oatmeal. I think there are plenty of other grains and cereals out there that are just as good for you and/or more to your liking. Have you tried any other hot cereals? I was eating that multigrain one for a while (Hodgson Mill brand). You can try adding brown sugar to oats and/or bananas, raisins, peanut butter, and other things if you really feel like you have to give it another shot. I also think you get used to the flavor/texture after a while.. :)
